Joining PalmCon for the first time will be The Finest: A GI Joe Costume Club. The Finest was established in 2007 to provide a positive community for fans to share their passion for the G.I. Joe universe by means of building and wearing high-quality costumes. In the ensuing years, the G.I. Joe brand experienced a tremendous resurgence following the success of new feature films, video games, cartoons, and an updated series of action figures. With this renewed public interest in G.I. Joe, the ranks of the Finest began to swell.

The mission of the Finest is to provide a positive community for costume enthusiasts to build and wear highly-detailed costumes and props from the G.I. Joe universe. Finest members actively promote interest in the G.I. Joe brand and use appearances at conventions and other events as a means to support community projects and charity efforts.


Kevin LaPorte is the Mobile, Alabama-based writer and co-creator of genre comics with a horror bent - Vicious Circus (with artist Amanda Rachels), Last Ride for Horsemen (with artist Nathan Smith) and Roadkill du Jour (with artist Shawn Harbin)! 

The worlds Kevin creates range from dark carnivals overrun by killer clowns violently avenging abused children (Clown Town) to dying frontier towns in the Old West beset by Steampunk versions of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (Last Ride for Horsemen) to the bayou territory of a lone motorcycle gangster seeking vengeance for his cursed appetite for street meat and the slaughter of his brothers-in-arms (Roadkill du Jour)! Kevin also contributed poetry and lyrics to Ancients & Warriors: The Sketch Art of Gavin Michelli, featuring the illustrations of collaborator, Gavin Michelli.


Kevin's company Inverse Press joined forces with Cosmic Times in 2015 to process the one-shot Scales of Time and the four issue mini-series Flesh of White (currently valuable for purchase at comic shops everywhere). Kevin will have available at PalmCon - Last Ride for Horsemen, Roadkill du Jour, Vicious Circus, Scales of Time, and the 84-page Ancients & Warriors: The Sketch Art of Gavin Michelli!

Jude Millien is a multitalented comic book artist/writer. He started working in the industry back in 1993 as the cover artist on Razor for London Night Studios and quickly became a sought after penciler. His work included various Razor titles, VR Vixen, Lethal Strike and Torture for London Night, Silent Rapture and Threshold for Avatar, Raw Media for Rising Star, Raptus for Knight Angel, Double Impact and Jazz for High Impact Entertainment among many others. What most people don't know is that beyond being an exceptional artist , Jude is also an accomplished comic book author, with more than 20 projects under his belt. Jude will be at PalmCon both days and will be taking commissions.

The mighty 501st Everglades Squad returns to PalmCon for the SIXTH year! The 501st Legion is an all-volunteer organization formed for the express purpose of bringing together costume enthusiasts under a collective identity within which to operate. The Legion seeks to promote interest in Star Wars through the building and wearing of quality costumes, and to facilitate the use of these costumes for Star Wars-related events as well as contributions to the local community through costumed charity and volunteer work.

Buffalo Wild Wings has joined PalmCon as a promotional partner! Buffalo Wild Wings is an American casual dining restaurant and sports bar co-founded in 1982 by Jim Disbrow and Scott Lowery. Disbrow and Lowery came up with the idea one weekend when they got together in Kent, Ohio, for Disbrow to a judge an amateur figure skating competition at Ivy Tech in 1980. Announcing the first annual PalmCon Comic Swap!

Cosplay for Jedi is an amazingly friendly and extremely talented cosplayer/ craftsperson. She runs a one-woman wonder-shop located in the Outer Rim's swamps of Dagobah (Southern Florida). She creates Star Wars inspired character hats & more! Each piece is lovingly and playfully created and is perfect for conventions & events across the galaxy! She makes items men, women and kids! She has been a staple of PalmCOn for years and we are happy to have her back for our 2016 event.

Karl Moline is a comic artist with an incredible resume - in 2014 he put his artistic stamp on the world of Disney with Marvel Comics' Disney Kingdoms: Seekers of the Weird. Karl is perhaps best known for his work in the Whedonverse, he has worked on  Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Tales of the Slayers, Willow, as well as Fray - which he co-created with Joss Whedon. He has worked for all of the major comic book publishing companies - Dark Horse Comics, DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Valiant Entertainment as well as the fondly remembered yet now defunct CrossGen Comics. Hims work can be found in Vampirella Strikes, 2099: World of Tomorrow, Dark Horse Presents, Scion, Route 666, Rouge, The Loaners, B.P.R.D. The Dead Remembered, X-Men Origins, Avengers Academy, Convergence Superboy and Unity …. to just name a few.

With a wildly loyal global fan-base for her voice-over work as "Jem" and "Jerrica" in the cartoon classic "Jem and the Holograms" Samantha is also a part of the iconic Hasbro brand "Transformers" with guest-starring roles as "Ariel", "Elise Presser" and "The Zamajon Empress". She can be heard as the gentle British voice of Peter Pan's mother in the classic Steven Spielberg's feature film "Hook". and starred in the campy horror flick Summer Camp Nightmare with Chuck Conners as rebel camper Debbie. Samantha appears in the 2015 live action Jem and the holograms feature film alongside Juliet Lewis, Molly Ringwald and Aubrey Peeples in special cameo role, her shout out to legions of original fans. 


​In the late 2000's Samantha was invited into the prestigious Leonard Cohen circle as a back-up singer and went on to tour extensively as a back up singer with the stadium worthy "Bricks in the Wall" belting out the Sights and Sounds of Pink Floyd. Based in Nashville TN since 2014 Samantha is writing and recording her solo self released solo Pop/electronica/dance albums. Her original music and vocals can be heard on many block buster game titles such as God of War, Twisted Metal black and Wild Arms 3, movie soundtracks and hit TV shows such as Smallville, Gossip Girl, The Ellen Show and the Kardashian franchise and more. Samantha was Invited back in 2015 to do more voice work in the up coming animated short film HG Chicken starring Bobcat Goldthwait, the same animation team that brought Pound Dogs the animated festival favorite to the screen. She also can be heard narrating the audio book for "Square Zair Pair" a children's book from author Jase Peeples and illustrator Christine Knopp available 2016

For PalmCon 2016 we sought out a Jedi to bring a bit of the Force to this years event. We traveled the galaxy and found Jedi Barriss Offee (Nalini Krishan) on her home planet of Mirial and she agreed to join us.

Nalini Krishan is an Australian actress born in Suva, Fiji. Krishan is a former miss Fiji Indian Sun winner and also has graced the catwalk through many Indian community events. Krishan has appeared in several film and TV projects but is most known as Jedi Barriss Offee from Star Wars. She enjoys traveling and meeting Star Wars fans all over the world. Nalini Krishan will be at PalmCon both Saturday and Sunday to meet fans, sign autographs and attend Q&A panels.

At the PalmCon booth (located just inside the entrance of Hall B) you will find the Comic Swap. There will be several boxes of random comics available to sort through. Here is how it will work … just bring in some of your old unwanted comics and trade them in for other comics. Take a comic leave a comic, it’s that easy. 

Also as a way to get kids into reading and collecting comics - all PalmCon attendees ages 12 & under can take THREE comics for FREE!

The PalmCon Comic Swap works on the honor system and will only work if you are honest and leave one comic for every one you take. We hope that this will be the start of an awesome new addition to PalmCon for years to come.

PalmCon welcomes back professional comic book artist Vinnie Tartamella. Vinnie has a very impressive list of credits including - Hack/Slash, Female Force: Hillary Clinton, Political Power: Bill Clinton, Female Force: Michelle Obama, Female Force: Princess Diana, Political Power: Colin Powell, Project Eon and many more. Vinnie is also currently working on a self-published comic series with his brother Frank Tartamella - Through the Woods. Beyond his comic work Vinnie has also worked as a designer for McFarlane Toys, Diamond Select, Toybiz and Bowen.

Jem aka Samantha Newark is coming to PalmCon 2016

Night Shift Studios makes its return to PalmCon. Artist/Writer of CRY and inker of Assassins’ Guild Joe Fauvel will be representing the indy publisher that has been around since 2004. Debuting at PalmCon is the newest issue of CRY as well as the new anthology series, Night Shift Tales. Joe is originally from Boston. He met Randy Taylor, writer of Assassins’ Guild, in 1999 on the old Wizard forums. Joe had just completed the year at the Joe Kubert School when Randy asked him to ink a project for him and from that they built the small press publisher. Beyond CRY and Assassins’ Guild Night Shift just finished, the soon to be published horror comic, Blackwood Chronicles and Joe is hard at work on the next issue of CRY, both will be released early 2017.

Amanda Rachels is an Amanda based full-time comic artist and (sometimes) colorist of independent comics, including Vicious Circus (with writer Kevin LaPorte), a unique twist on the prevailing fear of clowns that re-imagines the horror icons as avenging spirits for abused children! She also provided full art for The Blind Eye, a horror story of masked vigilantes protecting a hurricane-flooded city invaded by dark forces both human and supernatural. ALL of these comics will be available for sale at the convention!

Amanda is the artist of Cosmic Times' new mini-series Flesh of White, a story of dark magic and albinism in tribal Africa (with writer Erica J. Heflin) and is working on an adaptation of Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus (adapted for comics by writer Kevin LaPorte). Amanda will be taking commissions and is available for advance commissions, emailer her at - amanda@inversepress.com.

Announcing the FIRST Special Guest for PalmCon 2016 - Michael Bell

We are happy to announce Disney Legend, Ron Schneider as a special guest of PalmCon 2016! Ron is best known as Dreamfinder from the popular Journey into Imagination attraction at Walt Disney World’s EPCOT Center. His charming personality and quick wit entertained generations of Disney fans. Some of Ron’s earliest Disney work was on stage at Disneyland's Golden Horseshoe. Beyond playing Dreamfinder (with his pal Figment) in EPCOT Center Schneider also is the only actor to play the character on film. He appeared in a never released short film by Mike Jittlov, that was shot incase the Magic Journeys film wasn’t ready for the parks opening (it’s a fascinating story when told by Ron). Ron would later reprise the role of Dreamfinder on stage for the 40th anniversary of Walt Disney World in 2011. 

In 2012 Ron Schneider published “Dreamer to Dreamfinder: A Life and Lessons Learned in 40 Years Behind a Name Tag”. In the fascinating book Ron talks about the ups and downs of working in the theme park business and recounts stories from Disney, Universal, and Six Flags Magic Mountain. Just recently Ron was cast to play Walt Disney in the quirky independent film “The Further Adventures of Walt’s Frozen Head”.

If you’ve seen the show “Lip Sync Battle” then you kinda know what to expect … if not, brace yourself for a rocking, random, wicked and wild evening! Our performers will BATTLE head to head for your audience votes, with a variety of characters and songs that will keep you guessing and get your head spinning! 

This is the OfficialAdults Only Afterparty for PalmCon, featuring performances from the Cupcake Burlesque troupe. The event will be held at Respectables Street nightclub located at 518 Clematis St West Palm Beach, Fl 33401 (a 10 minute walk from the convention center). Palm Con attendees will get a $2 discount (with wristband), and the performers MAY be using some Cosplay themes in order to win votes. Patty Hawkins is a geek theorist, comedian, film critic, writer, historian & gadfly. A frequent emcee, panelist, moderator & celebrity interviewer at conventions, he has become known for his entertainingly comprehensive & interactive interview style. He is presently the host of Come Get ∑ (Come Get Sum), a talk show focusing on social issues in geek & convention culture. He is also the host of the comedy podcast Sots On Cels that combines drinking with Saturday Morning cartoon nostalgia, a contributor to the Dr. Who podcast MarkWho42, co-founder of the Partisan Podcast network, a member of the Geeks Of Comedy & co-owner of Ty-Fy Studios. When not broadcasting he works as a stage & VO actor and is an innovator in anachronistic & experimental cosplay. He can also re-enact entire issues of comic books in their entirety on demand. Patty will be hosting various panels for us at PalmCon.

Game Master Eric Kyle returns to PalmCon and on Saturday he is taking role players to all new places a with Mutant Crawl Classics: The Museum at the End of Time! The Museum at the End of Timeis an introductory adventure for the Mutant Crawl Classics role playing game. In this adventure, the Tribe of the Cog’s rite of passage sends young adventurers out into the Glow Desert, where they discover and explore a well preserved museum of the Ancient Ones. Eric will be running this adventure all day on Saturday, players are welcome to join in at any time. All Ages welcome, bring your own dice!

American actor/dancer Walter Jones is internationally known for playing Zach, The Black Ranger from the children’s action adventure phenomenon, The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. He has been featured as a series regular or guest star in over 150 episodes of various shows and has been featured in 7 films. Some of his credits include: The Golden Globe and Emmy Award winning police drama The Shield,  the top-rated series drama CSI, the long running comedy hit Moesha, and the upcoming action feature Speed Demons. In honor of the 50th Anniversary of Star Trek, on Sunday Game Master Eric Kile will be running Far Trek. Far Trek is a 3d6 based role playing game about exploring the final frontier. Based on Star Trek The Original Series, Far Trek lets you explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilization and to boldly go where no man has gone before. Eric will be running this game all day, allowing players to join or drop out at will. All ages welcome, everything to play will be supplied by the Game Master.

Dick Kulpa also known as Captain Cartoon is best known for his work with Cracked Magazine and Weekly World News (as the creator of Bat Boy) in the 1990′s and early 2000′s. Kulpa’s first syndicated work appeared in 1983, when he produced the Star Trek and Bruce Lee newspaper comics for the Los Angeles Times Syndicate.

Michael Duron has been with PalmCon since the first show and after missing last year’s event he’s returning and bringing with him our mascot for 2016 - the robo-turtle! Michael is a freelance artist and illustrator, who is a master caricaturists with years of experience. His credits include working on projects for Topps, Lucasfilm, New Line Cinema, Universal, Marvel and Disney. Michael also has been branching out and has begun working in mainstream comics for companies like Action Lab/Danger Zone, Think Alike Productions as well as his own LocoDuck Studios  We are thrilled to have him back in West Palm beach. 

PalmCon founder Martin T Pierro believes that for some, comic books can be the gateway to literacy. Pierro also believes in the importance of the Library and that is why every year since PalmCon began we have partnered with the Palm Beach County Library System. We are happy to say that for the sixth year straight the Library will be part of PalmCon and this year the library staff will be hosting TWO panels, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. Stop by the Library’s booth or sit on one of their panels to learn about all the great comic/geek-culture events going on at YOUR public library. 

The Florida Squad of the 1701st Fleet is returning to PalmCon! The 1701st Fleet is an international Star Trek Fan Association. They are a Star Trek based costuming club and fan organization. Members of The Fleet purchase and/or create (and wear) the various costumes worn by the characters of the Star Trek franchise, which includes but is not limited to the films, comics, books, games, and television shows based on Star Trek. This year the fleet will be brining a replica of the captains chair from the original USS Enterprise for photographs. 

Chris Harrelson is an Atlanta-based actor best known for his work on The Walking Dead. Chris has portrayed nearly two dozen different walkers in memorable scenes from Season 5 and 6, including the well-known Napalm Walker and Water Walker. He has also appeared on several TV shows such as The Vampire Diaries, The Originals and Rectify, as well as movies including The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2, Taken 3 and Selma. Chris is the host of What's Crackin podcast on iTunes and SoundCloud.  As a lifelong resident of Atlanta and fan of movies, TV shows and comic books, he is very much enjoying Atlanta's emergence as a major filming location. He lives in Atlanta with his wife and two children and enjoys traveling and watching actual skilled people play sports.

Though he is known as one of the best voice actors in the business, Michael Bell has also appeared on screen in countless roles through out his career including the first episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation “Encounter at Farpoint” where he appeared as Grappler Zorn, he would later appear on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine in TWO roles Drofo Awa (The Marquis) and Borum (The Homecoming). He also appeared in featured guest roles on many TV series including; The Monkees, Get Smart, Mission Impossible, Ironside, Mannix, The Streets of San Francisco, MASH, The Rockford Files, CHiPs, Benson, Three’s Company, Remington Steele, Scarecrow and Mrs. King, Hunter and Dallas.

RoadRunner Cosplay comes to PalmCon

Formed in 2009 as the Lady Makos the Makos Cheer and Dance team is vastly growing and becoming a strong support team for the Palm Beach Makos Minor league Football Team and the Florida Makos Indoor Football Team. Directed by DeShon Allen who has been involved in the world of cheerleading for over 25 years. He has put his all into making this a leading figure in the world of Minor league and Indoor Football Cheerleading​. The Makos will be performing at PalmCon on the main stage.

ZipperTan is an international artist, cosplayer, and costume designer based in Florida. She cosplayed at her first convention back in 2004, and she has been sewing costumes from scratch ever since. 

ZipperTan has had the honor of being a Cosplay Guest and running the Costume Contests for many local South Florida conventions such as Animate! Miami, Florida SuperCon, PalmCon & Miami Hurricon as well as Heroes of Cosplay. ZipperTan will be one of the judges for the PalmCon Costume Contest. When ZipperTan isn’t busy traveling to both local and out-of-state conventions, she enjoys meeting new people, reading, and playing video games.

He and his company Factory of Effects has worked with various productions including Zombieland, ID Channel episodes and theatrical stage productions.Factory of Effects also creates prosthetics used for film and television productions. His company can create silicone and latex busts for collectors of horror.

When RoadRunner Cosplay steps into character anything can happen. His goal is to bring a true depiction of people’s favorite characters to life right in front of their eyes. His new creation the RoadRunner Cosplay Experience has done just that. RoadRunner Cosplay isn’t just your average cosplayer, he is the future of cosplay.

Georges Jeanty got his first break in comics with Paradigm #1 (1994) published by Caliber Comics. Soon after, he worked on some of the “bad girl” books at London Night Studios. Laying his artistic hands on various London Night characters such as Poizon, Stryke and Razor. This led to his work with other underground comic publishers, plus a stint as a resident artist at Gaijin Studios. 


In 1997 Georges got another break working on issue 91 of Green Lantern for DC comics. That would then lead to him working on Superboy and several other DC projects before moving to Marvel in 1999 to work on Bishop: The Last X-Man. He would later work on Deadpool starting with issue 54 in 2001 before enjoying long runs with Weapon X and then Gambit recently working on Batwoman for DC.


In 2007 Georges entered the Whedon-verse with Buffy: The Vampire Slayer - Season 8 (and Season 9) for Dark Horse Comics, where he defined the look for that series. Buffy wasn’t the only Whedon book he would work on, he left his mark on Firefly with the follow up to the movie - Serenity: Leaves on the Wind Along with the new Serentiy book out later this year.
